Determination of available lysine and lactulose values in infant formulas

In this study, available lysine contents were determined in fourteen commercial adapted infant formulas using OPA method and spectrophotometric assay. The mean available lysine content of the formulas were found between 47,85±2,07 and 121,01±3,72 mg/g protein.Lactulose contents in commercial infant formulas were determined in gas chromatography after carbonhydrates were converted to trimethyl sylated derivates. The contents of lactulose were obtained between 20,29±3,04 and 112,58±1,62mg/100g.
