The aim of the study that is entitled “The Fleet Management in International
Road Transport and an Application” is to observe professionalism, service quality
and the fleet operations by focusing on a management exa mple that takes place in the
logistics sector. In the first and the introductory part of the dissertation, the term
‘logistics’ is defined, and the organisational structure and the main execution fields of
a logistics enterprise are pointed.

In the following stage of the study, in the extent of the fleet section in the
enterprise, operation, disposition and vehicle pursuit subunits are examined. Also,
the fleet section’s correlations with the other sections of the enterprise are discussed.
The operation process of the fleet section and the expedition planning are analysed
together with pre, during and post expedition stages. The importance of a secure
transport planning, the risk that is in the extent of the duty and the responsibility of
the drivers, the prevention of the accidents, damage and loss are stated. The
documents that are necessitated in international road transport are also included in
the study and examples of transport contracts are given. The costs of the fleets are
observed and information about the most important points of the renovation of the
vehicle fleets is given.
In the application part of the study, the organisational structure and the
activity of the fleet section of an examplary enterprise are researched concerning
international road transport, forming a unity between the theoretical and the
application parts of the study is aimed. The fleet management of the enterprise, the
international routes and their costs were analysed on examples. Also the possible
effects of the regulations of the state on the international road transport and on the
fleet management are discussed in the extent of this study.
