The investigation of colemanite consantrator waste effect to some characteristics concrete and mortar samples

In this study, effect of colemanite consantrate waste (C.C.W.) brought from Kütahya-Emet ETİ Bor A.Ş. as an additive to cement and concrete was investigated using mortar and concrete experiments. A comparsion between mortar and concrete speciments containing (CCW) 3% and 5% C.C.W and control speciments was made in terms of compressive strength. Void ratio, abrasion, carbonation experiment were also performed. Experimental results show that speciments containing 3% and 5% C.C.W were found to be similar to control speciment. The amount of in shrinkage all speciments containing C.C.W. were less that of control speciment. The amount of shrinkage in 3% C.C.W. were almost 40% less than that of control speciments. For this reason the use of C.C.W. in concrete speciments to reduce shrinkage is recomended.
